My Story

I’m Aziza Jaye — a UK-born artist, songwriter and producer based in the hills of Sheffield. My sound is deeply influenced by my Jamaican heritage, drawing from reggae, dancehall and lovers rock, alongside my love for rare soul, Motown, Afrobeat, house and drum and bass. Rather than being defined by one style, I coined the term “genre-less” to describe the freedom and versatility in my music — the ability to move between sounds and express myself without boundaries.

Music has always been part of my story. I grew up as a “sound system baby,” watching my dad warm up the decks before nights of music. Those early experiences shaped my identity and sound — evolving me from a musician into what I like to call a “soundsystem baby,” blending softness, soul and strength in both my music and message.

My own musical journey began with the clarinet in an orchestra before discovering my passion for singing. After winning a local singing competition, I realised music was more than a hobby. At 17, I studied vocal artistry at Manchester Music College, which helped me build the confidence to pursue music fully.

Since then, I’ve performed across the UK and internationally, sharing music that connects, heals and tells honest stories through sound.
